Volume 1 of Nana follows two girls， both named Nana， through the growing pains of transitioning from high school to adulthood。 As one would expect with a shojo it focuses most on their romantic relationships。 What made this stand out to me was that it was a little less idealized than other shojo I've read。 The character's are all likable but flawed and the drama isn't contrived， it's just stuff that happens to people as they grow up。 This was a really strong first volume。 I may end up reading mo Volume 1 of Nana follows two girls， both named Nana， through the growing pains of transitioning from high school to adulthood。 As one would expect with a shojo it focuses most on their romantic relationships。 What made this stand out to me was that it was a little less idealized than other shojo I've read。 The character's are all likable but flawed and the drama isn't contrived， it's just stuff that happens to people as they grow up。 This was a really strong first volume。 I may end up reading more。 。。。more

I’m not an avid manga reader or anything; I prefer books over comics/manga but Nana caught my attention with its art style and preview so I thrifted the first volume and read it on vacay in one day :）Pros:-art style -nana’s character development after the time jump -the snippet of comic at the end that broke the fourth wall lolCons:-the time jump; it was so confusing I’m not continuing the series 🧍🏽♀️

My favorite manga of all time。 I would recommend it to anyone that wants to read a wonderful love story （not just romantic， but family and friendships。 This manga has SO much love in it）， with solid， multifaceted characters， that will rip your heart out， destroy it， put it back together and destroy it again， while you thank it for existing。However， it's not finished and it's likely never to be finished。 So we'll never know what happens in the end。。。。I still recommend it， though。Paradise Kiss by My favorite manga of all time。 I would recommend it to anyone that wants to read a wonderful love story （not just romantic， but family and friendships。 This manga has SO much love in it）， with solid， multifaceted characters， that will rip your heart out， destroy it， put it back together and destroy it again， while you thank it for existing。However， it's not finished and it's likely never to be finished。 So we'll never know what happens in the end。。。。I still recommend it， though。Paradise Kiss by the same author is my second favorite， and a complete masterpiece。I could not love Ai Yazawa more than I do。 。。。more

My first ever manga！ Everyone here in Taiwan knows the book so I’m glad for the cultural experience。 The story itself was also quite the cultural experience—huge differences in how Asians view romantic relationships than how Americans do—but I probably was able to understand it better after having lived in Taiwan for a year。 I read this in English but hoping to read my next manga in Chinese。

Literally this is so good， make sure to take at least 5 volumes when you start this bc you will read the whole series in 1 day！！！！ （It has segsual things in it， so if you dont want that， i recommend not to read this） a playlist i would recommend while reading this would be ”nana osaki inspired playlist”
